ICT Habitats and Technology Parks

 
The Business Parks of Mauritius Ltd, a government-owned company, is responsible to spearhead the development, construction and management of state-of-the–art technology and hi-tech business parks in Mauritius. The BPML has set up the Ebène Cybercity, the first of its kind of a new generation of technology parks in this part of the world. The entire Cybercity, spread over an area of about 172 acres, is wired with fibre optic to provide high bandwidth international connectivity. The main components of the Ebène Cybercity are the Cyber Tower 1, an intelligent 12-storey building of 42,274 square metres equipped with ultra modern features, and the Cyber Tower 2. The new building of the Business Parks of Mauritius Ltd, will be at Rose-Belle. This tower will be a high tech building and will consist of six floors. In addition, Rose Belle Business Park will also house a shopping mall, and other small commercial projects.
 
Operational since November 1999, the Trade and Marketing Centre is an intelligent building, equipped with high bandwidth optic cable network, direct access to the Internet, modern digital technologies and a variety of other high-tech features. The Trade and Marketing Centre, is located at Mer Rouge and centrally located in the Port area, hosts companies such as telemarketing, call center operations and IT based training for call centre operations.
 
Set up in 1995, the Informatics Park was the first technology-oriented building constructed in Mauritius with a view to providing modern office space to ICT companies. The Informatics Park is located at La Tour Koenig, Port Louis and is comprised of 38 modular units of 103 m2. The Informatics Park is the first dedicated IT Park built in Mauritius for ICT activities.
